JULY 25: ELGIN
The Elgin Classic returns as one of the most electrifying stops in the Chicago Grit series.
Set against the backdrop of Elgin’s historic northeast neighborhood, this fan-favorite course delivers high-speed action, heart-pounding sprints, and roaring community support — all in honor of local racer and organizer, Dennis Jurs.
Elgin is known for its diverse, welcoming spirit, and the Elgin Classic lets that spirit shine. With food trucks, family fun, giveaways, and world-class cyclists from across the country – and the globe – this is the summer event Elgin lives for.
Race day activities will include bike safety clinics, a Family Fun Ride, and an expanded neighborhood festival in beautiful historic Northeast Elgin on and around the former Advocate Sherman Center Street campus.
