ABOUT
THE RACE
Chicago Grit (formerly known as Intelligentsia Cup) is an exciting 10-day criterium race series that takes place annually in Chicagoland, typically the middle to end of July. We are the largest road racing series in America and work hard every year to create an unforgettable event that keeps riders coming back to experience that big crit energy!
Our races are not your typical parking lot criteriums, but all day events in the most incredible communities in and around Chicagoland. Each community we race in has fully embraced the culture of cycling. They work all year to ensure our riders and spectators have an unforgettable experience racing with us.

THE SPECTATORS
Criterium races (often referred to as “crits”) are some of the most exciting events you can spectate. Unlike road races, crits are run on short courses – typically under 1 mile. The short course combined with the tight corners and speed of the peloton makes for non-stop action. Crit racing is like nascar on a bike.
A community event….with a bike race.
Beyond the general excitement of watching the thrill of the win and disappointment of defeat – Chicago Grit is all about community. We are a community event….with a bike race. Every day you’ll be able to take part in epic block parties, carnivals, kids rides, bike giveaways, etc.
