The ‘Leg Breaker’ finish of the West Dundee River Challenge returns for the eighth year!

Incorporated in 1887, the Village of West Dundee is a small river town nestled in the suburbs of Chicago along the Fox River. The downtown is home to unique eateries and shops and the nearby Fox River Bike Trail. The course makes a 0.9 mile loop through the historic Old Town North neighborhood, passing historic houses, racing alongside the Fox River and finally charging up the famous Leg Breaker Hill.

TEAM MACK Masters 50/60+ miniseries

West Dundee marks the first day of the Team MACK Masters 50/60+ miniseries! We’re grateful to Team MACK for making this series possible. Whether you use this series as a tune up for nationals, or are planning on racing the entire Chicago Grit series, this miniseries is a can’t miss on the race schedule for 2024!

Yard Hosts – a party on the course in 2024!

We launched Yard Hosting in 2023 and it was a smashing success!
In 2024, teams interested in setting up a day-camp with a hosting family should meet our volunteers/golf carts at the unloading area on N 5th St along the west side of the park for team & equipment transportation to designated spots. If not taking advantage of the yard hosts, all other team tents must be placed on a parkway along the course. No team tents can be set up in Grafelman Park or in designated parking areas.
