The ‘Leg Breaker’ finish of the West Dundee River Challenge returns for the tenth year!
Incorporated in 1887, the Village of West Dundee is a small river town nestled in the suburbs of Chicago along the Fox River. The downtown is home to unique eateries and shops and the nearby Fox River Bike Trail. The course makes a 0.9 mile loop through the historic Old Town North neighborhood, passing historic houses, racing alongside the Fox River and finally charging up the famous Leg Breaker Hill.
Cyclist Hospitality Suite
Race day can be long. Between warm-ups, multiple events, podiums, and waiting for your next start, it’s helpful to have somewhere to regroup.
During the West Dundee River Challenge, First United Methodist Church is opening its doors to registered racers, providing a comfortable Hospitality Suite just steps from the course.
Whether you need to change clothes, recharge your phone, grab a quick snack, or simply get out of the heat for a few minutes, you’re welcome here.
The West Dundee River Challenge brings riders from across the country to our community, and we’re honored to support you all throughout the day.

Follow signs for event parking. Street parking is also available in the Old Town South neighborhood, south of Main Street/Route 72.
